“Houdini, The Amazing Kreskin and David Copperfield are all amateurs compared to you. You’ve performed true magic and I will be forever grateful and proud to be one of your patients. Thanks for making me feel and look like I’ve only dreamed possible.” — S.S.

“My visit with you has made me a more positive woman. Before I hated my nose, I hated to look in the mirror. I had the lowest self-esteem in the world. I despised the mirror but now I look and smile. Dr. Markowitz, you are a perfecto. I will spread the word because you are the best.” — R.B.

E-mail with picture attachment. “Don’t I look great!?”
“It’s been over 2 years since you did my face. Every day I look in the mirror and feel so happy about the way I look. I am so grateful to you for you work. Just wanted you to see me now and thank you very much. See you sometime in the future, I’m sure.”
— N.C.

“I entered your surgery at 61 and, less than 3 weeks later I’m 51 again! Your skill is beyond explanation. Your kindness and care has made this an exciting and comforting passage.”— J.B.

“Just a note to let you know how very pleased I am with my face! Your touch gives a more youthful and not a severe pulled look. You are a medical artist. Thank you so very much!” — D.E.

“Its six months post op for me and I’m still so amazed and happy with my face. Thank you for making me feel so special every step of the way." — C.H.

“Thanks for the body overhaul. It somehow didn’t seem appropriate to thank you when I was all yellow, swollen and sore. But, now that I’m healing – I want to genuinely thank you for all your expert caring – not to mention the opportunity to now be able to look in the mirror without the sudden urge to vomit! Seriously, I’m 100 times more comfortable now, inside and out. I really appreciate all you time and attention. You have made me happy.” — J.K.

“I hope that I have appropriately expressed my appreciation for the work that you have performed on me. I know you’ve heard this before, but only because it’s true, my self-esteem has been heightened enormously since the surgery. (Although there are some who may argue that my self-esteem didn’t need inflating). I love my new look, I love the way my clothes fit me, in short I’m very glad I undertook this surgery and that I chose you to perform it. You professionalism, warmth and humor were big contributors in helping me make the decision to undergo the surgery and were appreciated during the healing stages as well. Thank you again. I would never hesitate to refer a friend to you, or even someone I didn’t like.” — A.K.

“As I look back on five years cancer-free, I’m taking time to write some very special thank-you notes, and one of them is to you. I still marvel at how you put my tongue back together. I would have been satisfied being able to swallow Carnation Instant Breakfast the rest of my life, but now I can eat anything – except maybe really tough steak – and who doesn’t have a problem with that. The only thing that gives me speed away is the “S” sound and you may have refined that in the five years since my surgery. The incredible thing is how cancer has become much more of a blessing than a curse. If you ever need a patient to talk about the power of prayer in cancer and healings, I’m your man!”— C.S.

“Just a note to thank you for the excellent care you showed me. I felt confident and secure re the whole time. You’re the most wonderful gift anyone could ever hope for to share.” — J.B.

“Thank you for doing such a beautiful (a relative term, but she looked beautiful to me!) job with my mother. And thank you for calling us that night in the lounge. It was a source of great comfort to me and my father, and we carried that into ICU with us. I shall never forget the look on my father’s face when mom sort of smiled at him.” — B.N.

“Thank you so much for your excellent professional care. You are the best of the best. Now I am one month after my surgery and I am nearly reaching my normal look and function. I believe that I shall totally recover after another month. Many thanks!”
— L.C.

“The surgery you performed on my daughter’s forehead in February has healed remarkably well…the scar is so thin and only noticeable if one is up-close or if you know where to look I thank you for you fantastic work. I also want to extend my thanks and appreciation to your entire surgical team – they were wonderful with her before and after the surgery – my guess is during the surgery too. My big thanks to God for allowing you and your team to develop your talent. May he continue to bless you all individually, personally and professionally. My daughter enjoys not having to wear bangs now and is having a great year in junior high school. Again, my thanks!!” — G.B.

“I wanted to take the time to thank you for my recent surgery and what a great job you did. I had the rest of the stitches out last week and it has all healed beautifully. Also, a thank you and your staff for the professionalism and compassionate treatment we received while at the surgery center. I hope to be able to see you again next spring.”
— M.O.

“This card couldn’t express in a more perfect way how I felt prior to my surgery! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m so pleased with my results, what a gift. No accidents, people cross your path for a definite reason…always. I trusted you the minute I spoke to you. With utmost gratitude and respect.” — B.S.

Essay titled “My Favorite Person” (ten year old patient after otoplasty)
“Of all the people I know my favorite is Dr. Markowitz. He is a very nice doctor. During his life he has had a lot of patients that he has done surgery on. Dr. Markowitz is a plastic surgeon. With these qualities Dr. Markowitz is my favorite person. First, Dr. Markowitz is a peaceful doctor. He has done plastic surgery in UCLA for ten years. No matter how hard the surgery is he still does it. Second, Dr. Markowitz is a good doctor and he does surgery on any one who wants that surgery. People who had Dr. Markowitz for surgery they always go back to talk to him because he is a friendly speaker. He doesn’t laugh about the people and what surgery they want. Finally, for all of Dr. Markowitz’ surgery in the area of UCLA he should be awarded the best doctor in the universe. Dr. Markowitz is a great surgeon.”
— A.G.

“I just want you to know how pleased I am with the results of my surgery you performed on July 11, 1995. The results far exceed my expectations, even while I’m healing. Your reputation for being a brilliant and expert surgeon is underrated. Not only are you extremely professional, but you are caring and reassuring. I understand why the physicians I work with recommend you to all their patients. I realize that patient confidentiality is of utmost importance in your business. I would be willing to talk to any potential clients of yours who were interested in speaking to someone who has undergone similar surgery. I thank you again for taking such good care of me both pre-operatively and post-operatively. I hope you will still be practicing in 20 years when I need you again, for my face.” — P.A.

“I just wanted to thank you for such a great job. I am so thrilled to have finally done something about my eyes. My son will be in kindergarten when I’m 45 so this is really going to make me look and feel more youthful. Thanks again so much. Good luck to you in your future. If you are ever in Newport, please call so I can send you to the Ritz.” — M.A.

“Thank you for giving me the face that reflects my life style and my spirit. Enjoy you holiday.” — E.E.
